1956 Chevrolet Bel Air

The Chevy Bel Air is considered one of the most iconic designs ever to grace the American auto industry. After countless pop culture references, and thousands of fans, the Bel Air is as much a pop icon as it is automotive royalty.

Eric’s 1956 candy apple red Bel Air is no exception- a car that most enthusiasts dream of. Completely restored and rust free, this prime example shows just how gorgeous the Bel Air can really be.

How did you acquire your ride?

I bought this ’56 chevy from my dad.

What drew you to it when you bought it?

I was attracted to buy it because it is a very classic and popular style but with young guys (twist: I’m 28), because its lowered and has the Chip Foose wheels. Also I had plenty of time to test drive it and I knew it was a completely rust free car and had a frame-off [restoration] about 10 years ago (got the picture book with it), and my dad had the motor completely rebuilt and bored out .40.

What do you feel like when you drive it?

Theres nothing like pulling this thing out of the garage and taking evening cruises it almost feels like I’m floating down the highway to my favorite country station.

What you would change about your car, if anything?

I wouldn’t make any major changes to my car other than the small things I’m doing now like some chrome under the hood and new hoses and things I’m already working on.

What have you done to make it a bolder ride?

I did add a chrome brake booster and having power breaks has made all the difference in the world for relaxing cruises

Dream accessory for it and why?

The only major change I will probably make one day is some custom interior, I definitely won’t be going back all original because thats just not this car’s style.
